As a new mom, it is very important that you continue to care for your health as well as your baby’s. Here are just a few examples of things you should do to stay in good health.
Exercise
You should continue to exercise after giving birth so that you stay healthy and full of energy while caring for your baby. Staying active will also help you lose the added "baby weight" in a healthy and safe way. You can take your baby on a stroll around the block, or exercise in your home while your baby takes a nap. Use the time when your baby sleeps to take care of your needs!
Sleep
Rest as much as you can so that you have enough energy to care for your baby all day and all night. When your baby sleeps, you should sleep. Get someone to help with nighttime feedings or during the day if you have to stay up all night. If you’re feeling tired, find a family member or friend to help take care of the baby so that you can take a nap. It is important that you get enough rest every single day, so don’t be afraid to ask someone else to help out.
