Exercise & Sleep

ExerciseGetting enough exercise and adequate sleep during your pregnancy can have great benefits for you and your baby.

Exercise

It is a good idea to exercise while you are pregnant. Do not do contact sports or high impact exercise, because they can hurt you and your baby. Talk with your doctor about a good program for you, like walking a half hour each day!

Sleep

Rest as much as you can. You may be more tired now – this is normal. Try to sleep on your left side (this will help get enough blood to your baby and help your legs from swelling), put pillows between your legs, and under your belly and back. Do not sleep on your stomach or your back.
